Curation work for JinJing’s solo exhibition

法国人有句话：“Espritd’Escalierscalier”，直译为“楼梯上的灵光”，意思是：当你找到答案时，却为时已晚。

There is a French saying: "Espritd’Escalierscalier", literally translated as "light on the stairs", meaning: when you find the answer, it's too late.

比如，你参加party时，有人当众侮辱了你，大家都盯着你，看你作何反应。在重压之下，你只能支吾以对。可是，当你郁闷离开之后，在转角的楼梯口，如同魔术一般，你想到了最能反驳对方的话语。所以，这些我们本该说出，却迟迟没有说出的，都是“灵光”。

For example, when you attend a party, someone insults you in public, and everyone is staring at you to see how you react. Under the pressure, you can only falter. However, when you leave depressed, at the corner of the stairs, magically, you found the words that can best refute the other party. Therefore, these things that we should have said but have not yet said are all "arura."

那“灵光”在什么时候闪现呢？是在做出蠢事的恼怒时刻？是在片刻冷静的洗澡时间？还是在洋洋得意的大笑瞬间？

When does the "aura" flash? Is it an angry moment of doing stupid things? Is it appears during the time for a cool bath? Or in the moment of triumphant laughter?

“灵光”来来回回，时隐时现，被“尴尬”和“愚蠢”包裹得严严实实，如同我们的“私处”一般。只有在尿液快撑爆膀胱时，我们才脱下层层裤子，面对它。

Aura" goes back and forth, faintly and now and then, wrapped tightly by "embarrassment" and "stupidity", just like our "private parts". Only when the urine is about to burst the bladder, we take off the layers of pants and face it.

这个严肃而冰冷的世界，依附于深刻的理论体系，才感觉安全。而“灵光”这种一闪而逝的小聪明，是不值得公开展示的。除非你是个孩子？除非你足够真诚直率？除非你不顾一切？

This serious and cold world is dependent on a profound theoretical system to feel safe. And "aura" is such a flashy cleverness that is not worthy of public display. Unless you are a kid? Unless you are sincere and straightforward enough? Unless you are desperate?

而我将向你介绍一个“怪小孩”：金晶！她将藏在私处的灵光任意展露，不问原由。她每一次的小聪明、小发现、小创造都出现得如此自然，仿佛瞬间的“灵光乍泄”。我想，这是她难得的天赋吧。

And I will introduce you a "weird kid": Jin Jing! She arbitrarily reveals the aura hidden in her private parts, regardless of the reason. Every time she makes little cleverness, little discovery, and little creation, she appears so naturally, as if she has a flash of inspiration. I think this is her rare talent.

On the opening day of the exhibition, we also held a sharing session called "Mahjong Panel". There are four people sitting on each side of the square Mahjong table. In each Mahjong game, Jin Jing will have a "Mahjong skills（the secret of Mahjong skills is all about luck） and debate" contest with three mysterious guests. The three players will question Jin Jing from their own "hands (by playing Mahjong) and positions (which depends on where sit on the table, cuz in China the position where you sit on the Mahjong table decide the relationship with other players)"! Questions may be mild or sharp, Jin Jing must answer on the spot. In this way, we present the different sides and boundaries of Jin Jing's aura.

开幕当天也举办了一场“牌局对谈”。

方形牌桌一边各坐一人，共四人。在每一局的对弈中，金晶将和三位神秘嘉宾进行一场“手气和语气”的较量。三位对弈者，将从自身的“牌面和立场”对金晶发起疑问！疑问或许温和、或许尖刻，金晶必须当场作答。我们以此种方式，呈现金晶灵光的不同侧面及界限。
